Endlich mal wieder Abwechslung in der No Limit Hold’em Flut der WSOP. Das $2.500 Razz Event ist aber gleichzeitig auch das einzige auf dem Plan der diesjährigen World Series of Poker (WSOP). 301 Teilnehmer ließen sich die Chance nicht entgehen und sorgten so für einen Preispool von $684.775.
Seven Card Razz zählt zu den Exoten, dennoch freuen sich viele Spieler genau auf diese Events. Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer hätte gerne noch mehr dieser Lowball Varianten auf dem Schedule, wie er in der aktuellen Ausgabe von SOSA2Go erzählt. Er ließ es sich natürlich nicht nehmen, hier mit dabei zu sein, auch Thomas Mühlöcker versuchte sein Glück. Die Liste der internationalen Pros konnte sich sehen lassen – von Phil Ivey über Phil Hellmuth, Chad Brown, David Bach, Antonio Esfandiari, Huck Seed, John Cernuto, John Monnette, Cyndy Violette, Marco Traniello, JJ Liu, Allen Kessler, bis hin zu Erik Seidel, David Singer, David Chiu und so weiter waren alle angetreten.
Eoghan O’Dea landete mit Papa Donnacha am selben Tisch. Sollte am Anfang noch Donnacha im Vorteil sein, so schaffte es letztlich keiner der beiden heil durch den Tag. Schauspieler James Woods musste sich kurz nach der Dinnerbreak verabschieden, auch JJ Liu, Maria Ho, John Juanda, Joe Tehan und Chad Brown mussten die Hoffnungen auf das Razz Bracelet schon am ersten Tag begraben. Phil Ivey verabschiedete sich mit einem 9-8 Low gegen das 8-6 Low kurz vor Ende des Tages.
131 Spieler konnten die ersten acht Levels erfolgreich beenden. Bester Deutscher ist aktuell Thomas Butzhammer auf Rang 20, aber auch Thomas Mühlöcker, George Danzer und Isi Bojang kommen an Tag 2 wieder. Chipleader ist aktuell David Bach.
