Mit Event # 21 stand ein weiteres $1.000 No Limit Hold’em Massenevent auf dem Programm der World Series of Poker (WSOP). 2.043 Spieler sorgten für einen Preispool von $1.838.700 und wie so oft wurden schon an Tag 1 die Geldränge erreicht. Christophe Gross schaffte es in die Top 10, auch Dominik Nitsche hat eine gute Ausgangsposition für Tag 2.
Unter den Teilnehmern waren die üblichen Verdächtigen wie Erik Seidel, David Williams, Barry Shulman, Keven Stammen, Josh Arieh, Jonathan Little, Matt Salsberg, Greg Merson, Jason Koon, Dwyte Pilgrim, Ryan Riess und so weiter. Auch Dominik Nitsche machte sich einmal mehr auf Braceletjagd.
In Level 11, dem letzten Level des Tages, platzte die Bubble und das gleich doppelt. Kaum wurde „in the money“ verkündet, gab es auch schon eine Schlange beim Cashier. Unter anderem erwischte es auch Sven Oberländer auf Rang 211, er konnte den Min-Cash von $1.875 mitnehmen.
Zwischendurch stichelte Dominik Nitsche ein wenig gegen Erik Seidel, nach dem dieser getwittert hatte, Chipleader zu sein.

Bis zum Ende des Tages war keiner der beiden Chipleader, aber beide gut dabei. Dominik Nitsche brachte mit seinen 79.200 in eine sehr gute Ausgangsposition für Tag 2. Die Führung sicherte sich Dave D’Alesandro mit 154.400. Noch besser als Dominik startet Christophe Gross in den zweiten Tag, er eroberte Rang 8 im Chipcount. Ebenfalls dabei sind WSOP Dauer-Casher Daniel Engels sowie Mohsen Tayfeh, Bernd Rygol und Oliver Kohlhepp.
